Numerous reviews say that but they are poly/plastic. Period.There is no built in spring mech for the ear pieces. For this much $ you should get that...BUTThe optics for water and air sports are second to none. Put these on and go out to surf, boat or fly and you'll be assured of zero ambient light getting in around the corners and perfect polarized non-glare lenses enabling you to see everything in complete detail.They're expensive but worth it.
